Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India - December 27, 2023 - Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, vacated the Chief Minister's residence today after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chose Dr. Mohan Yadav as the new Chief Minister of the state.
Chouhan led the BJP to a historic victory in the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. However, the BJP's central leadership decided not to appoint him as the Chief Minister this time.
Before leaving the Chief Minister's residence, Chouhan and his family offered prayers at the temple located in the residence. Security personnel posted at the Chief Minister's residence also bade him farewell.
Chouhan's new address is B-8 Swami Dayanand Nagar, Bhopal. He is expected to move there permanently in the coming weeks.
The BJP's decision to appoint Yadav as the new Chief Minister has been met with mixed reactions. Some people believe that Yadav is a capable leader who will be able to continue the good work that Chouhan started. Others believe that the decision was unfair to Chouhan, who is a popular and experienced leader.
It remains to be seen how Yadav will perform as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
