Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, has removed senior officer Shri Umakant Umrao of the Indian Administrative Service (1996 batch) from the position of Principal Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Protection Department. Mr. Umrao also held the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Cooperation Department, which has been withdrawn as well. Appointed as a member of the Revenue Board, Gwalior

Umakant Umrao - Revered as the PANI WALA DEVTA in Dewas

In 2006, Mr. Umakant Umrao served as the Collector of Devas. He passed the engineering exam from IIT Roorkee. During his tenure in Devas, there was a severe water crisis. He initiated the Devas Plan with 40 farmers and constructed over 16000 ponds. As a result, the water problem of the area was permanently resolved."
