The kidnapping took place around 8 AM on Thursday in the Murar police station area. A video of the incident has also surfaced. The footage shows the child, Shivay Gupta, being accompanied by his mother, Aarti Gupta, as she walked him to the school bus. Suddenly, two bike-borne criminals appeared from behind. One of them got off the bike and followed the mother and child, while the other rider stopped a little ahead with the bike.
The criminal then swiftly threw chili powder into the mother's eyes, grabbed the child in a flash, and ran towards the bike. As the mother attempted to chase them, she fell on the road. Meanwhile, the two kidnappers sped away with the boy. The mother somehow got up and started shouting for help. Shivay’s father, Rahul Gupta, is a sugar trader.
CM’s Focus Led to Relentless Police Efforts in Gwalior
Gwalior IG Arvind Saxena stated that as soon as CM Dr. Mohan Yadav issued directives, all police stations in the Gwalior-Chambal region were put on high alert. Multiple police teams were deployed for search operations. Several teams in civilian clothing were sent into the field to track down the child.
This immense pressure left the kidnappers with no escape route. Realizing that moving with the child had become extremely difficult and that harming him could create major complications, they abandoned the boy in Banshipura village and went into hiding at an unknown location.
In Banshipura village, Shivay was found standing alone, crying. Fortunately, an e-rickshaw driver passing by noticed him. The police had already circulated the child’s photo across their entire network. As soon as the driver saw the child, he recognized him, took him into his care, and handed him over to the sarpanch of Kajibasai village. The sarpanch, following protocol, informed the police, who then contacted the child’s parents.
