MCX Daily Report - COTTON CANDY futures jumps, GOLD futures drops, SILVER futures drops

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.107649.66 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 10534.99 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 97114.35 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Apr/25 futures was reached at 21514.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 7089.02 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract down by Rs.2 to Rs. 93250 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN April-2025 contract was down by Rs.49 or 0.05% to Rs. 93158 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA April-2025 contract was up by Rs.203 or 0.27% to Rs. 74901 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL April-2025 contract was up by Rs.16 or 0.17% to Rs. 9368 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM May-2025 contract was up by Rs.45 or 0.05% to Rs. 92880 per 10 gram.

SILVER futures, with May-2025 expiry contract was down by Rs.35 or 0.04% to Rs. 94835 per kg, while SILVERM April-2025 contract was down by Rs.29 or 0.03% to Rs. 94815 per kg and SILVERMIC April-2025 contract was down by Rs.24 or 0.03% to Rs. 94813 per kg.

GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2752.50 crores with volume of 2948 lots and OI of 22766 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1950.74 crores with volume of 6829 lots and OI of 23488 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1635.06 crores. COPPER April-2025 contract was down by Rs.4.85 or 0.57% to Rs. 842.2 per kg and ZINC April-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.4 or 0.16% to Rs. 252 per kg while ALUMINIUM April-2025 without any changes 234.3 per kg and LEAD April-2025 contract was up by Rs.0.15 or 0.08% to Rs. 178.75 per kg.

COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1155.82 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 98.79 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 24.68 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 251.27 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 1799.05 crores. CRUDEOIL April-2025 without any changes 5264 per BBL while NATURALGAS April-2025 contract was down by Rs.4.9 or 1.67% to Rs. 287.8 per MMBTU.

CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 690.79 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 877.80 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL April-2025 contract was down by Rs.3.3 or 0.36% to Rs. 920 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was up by Rs.580 or 1.07% to Rs. 55030 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 97114.35 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1189.69 crores.

CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5300 was down by Rs.8.5 or 15.45% to Rs. 46.50 with volume of 167457 lots & OI of 26068 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5300 was down by Rs.6.7 or 7.22% to Rs. 86.1 with volume of 160293 lots & OI of 14415 lots.

NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.290 was down by Rs.3 or 21.13% to Rs. 11.20 with volume of 23509 lots & OI of 6585 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.290 was up by Rs.3.15 or 28% to Rs. 14.4 with volume of 15174 lots & OI of 5782 lots.

GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option contract at Strike price of with volume of lots & OI of lots, while GOLD Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.93000 was down by Rs.170 or 10.93% to Rs. 1386 with volume of 762 lots & OI of 596 lots.

SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by Rs.142 or 7.65% to Rs. 1714 with volume of 1303 lots & OI of 1370 lots, while SILVER Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by Rs.165 or 8.45% to Rs. 1788.5 with volume of 841 lots & OI of 906 lots.
