Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.61409.72 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Thursday, April 17, 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 13592.34 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 47815.4 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Apr-25 futures was reached at 21894.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 11028.37 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was down by Rs.311 or 0.33% to Rs. 95350 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN April-2025 contract was down by Rs.383 or 0.4% to Rs. 95125 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA April-2025 contract was down by Rs.138 or 0.18% to Rs. 76450 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL April-2025 contract was down by Rs.11 or 0.11% to Rs. 9591 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM May-2025 contract was down by Rs.301 or 0.32% to Rs. 94862 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with May expiry contract was down by Rs.1472 or 1.53% to Rs. 94778 per kg, while SILVERM April-2025 contract was down by Rs.1507 or 1.57% to Rs. 94736 per kg and SILVERMIC April-2025 contract was down by Rs.1466 or 1.52% to Rs. 94760 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 4500.09 crores with volume of 4707 lots and OI of 24596 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2222.36 crores with volume of 7764 lots and OI of 22319 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1359.46 crores. COPPER April-2025 contract was down by Rs.8.9 or 1.06% to Rs. 834.55 per kg and ZINC April-2025 contract was down by Rs.1.65 or 0.67% to Rs. 245.5 per kg while ALUMINIUM April-2025 contract was down by Rs.1.25 or 0.54% to Rs. 230.9 per kg and LEAD April-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.95 or 0.54% to Rs. 176.55 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 834.95 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 98.11 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 32.75 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 284.22 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 1215.46 crores. CRUDEOIL April-2025 contract was up by Rs.59 or 1.1% to Rs. 5400 per BBL while NATURALGAS April-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.5 or 0.18% to Rs. 277.2 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 538.48 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 478.98 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL April-2025 contract was up by Rs.0.2 or 0.02% to Rs. 914 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was up by Rs.280 or 0.51% to Rs. 55030 per candy.

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 47815.4 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 674.98 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.5400 was up by Rs.20.7 or 11.09% to Rs. 207.40 with volume of 22709 lots & OI of 7271 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5300 was down by Rs.26.9 or 11.91% to Rs. 199 with volume of 15505 lots & OI of 4825 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option April contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was down by Rs.0.3 or 3.26% to Rs. 8.90 with volume of 22418 lots & OI of 12185 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was down by Rs.0.05 or 0.44% to Rs. 11.4 with volume of 17575 lots & OI of 10500 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was down by Rs.178 or 18.29% to Rs. 795 with volume of 1340 lots & OI of 461 lots, while GOLD Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.94000 was up by Rs.38.5 or 4.72% to Rs. 855 with volume of 1807 lots & OI of 677 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option April contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was down by Rs.663 or 53.27% to Rs. 581.5 with volume of 3257 lots & OI of 1319 lots, while SILVER Put Option April-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by Rs.499 or 55.75% to Rs. 1394 with volume of 2557 lots & OI of 960 lots.
